Si planter trois buts au cours d'un même match relève déjà de l'exploit dans un sport tel que le football, que dire lorsqu'ils sont inscrits des deux pieds et de la tête ? Cette "figure" que nos amis anglais appellent "perfect hat trick" est bien sûr aussi rare qu'exceptionnelle et représente en quelque sorte la quintessence du grand buteur. Un joueur complet capable de marquer dans toutes les positions et avec toutes les parties de son corps. Aujourd'hui âgé de 35 ans et en pré-retraite à Cardiff (D2 anglaise), Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink fut un de ceux-là. Et c'est à l'occasion d'un match de championnat opposant Chelsea à son pire ennemi, Tottenham, que l'attaquant néerlandais réalisa la prouesse de marquer du droit aux vingt mètres, avant de reprendre un centre de Gronkjaer de la tête et de claquer une frappe du gauche magnifique depuis le coin droit de la surface des Spurs. Autant d'arguments qui font de ce hat trick l'un des plus remarquables du genre.
