La Ligue 1 a savouré hier soir son clasico, la Premier League a elle dégusté son « crunch », appellation attribuée aux Chelsea-Liverpool. Et ce terme a bien été choisi tant l'opposition entre ces deux équipes se veut toujours autant serrée et indécise. Hier, les deux Français alignés sur la pelouse côté Chelsea, Florent Malouda et Nicolas Anelka, n'ont rien pu faire face à des Reds fidèles à eux-mêmes, rigoureux et vaillants (0-1). Le gaucher des Blues est sorti à la 58e minute tandis qu 'Anelka ne s'est jamais réellement montré à son avantage, trop esseulé à la pointe de l'attaque. Face à West Ham, Arsène Wenger a titularisé quatre frenchies. Le back four aurait même pu être totalement tricolore si Bacary Sagna n'avait pas été laissé sur le banc. Le gaucher a notamment essuyé deux véritables attentats, signés Vidic et Giggs, suivis de grandes tapes amicales. Pourtant fragile, le Toffee a terminé le match.

Un mot sur Djibril Cissé, une nouvelle fois buteur face à Newcastle (victoire de Sunderland 2-1) et élu homme du match, qui prouve que son attirance pour le championnat outre-Manche est bien fondée et réciproque. L'OM se mord les doigts chaque week-end un peu plus fort.

Henry encore buteur
En Espagne, Eric Abidal et Thierry Henry ont pris part à la ballade barcelonaise offerte face à Almeria (5-0). Buteur, Henry a toutefois souffert de la comparaison avec Samuel Eto'o auteur d'un triplé en 19 minutes. Si la presse catalane s'est calmée dernièrement sur son cas, elle reste toujours aussi sceptique malgré l'enthousiasme croissant affiché par le capitaine des Bleus.

Le choc du week-end opposait Villarreal à l'Atletico Madrid. Il a tenu ses promesses (4-4). Gregory Coupet, blessé, a eu tout le loisir d'observer son concurrent Leo Franco commettre une belle bourde. Réduits à 10 et menés 4 à 2, les Colchoneros ont néanmoins arraché le nul grâce à un énorme Simao. Florent Sinama-Pongolle est lui resté sur le banc. Côté Villarreal, Robert Pires était aligné d'entrée et s'est montré convaincant.

En bref
Sebastien Frey a largement contribué au succès de la Viola à Palerme (1-3). Mathieu Flamini a quant à lui la poisse. Titularisé d'entrée à la place de Seedorf, le milieu français a été contraint de sortir au bout d'une demi-heure, touché à la cuisse. Décidément, il n'est vraiment pas aisé de s'installer dans l'entrejeu milanais.
En Allemagne enfin, Franck Ribery a marqué le premier des quatres buts munichois face à Wolfsburg (4-2) et n'est pas près de laisser sa place de chouchou de l'Allianz Arena.
